Why won't the start page links work?

Macro Security might be set to high

If you click on a box on the Start page and it does not open to the home page you probably need to adjust your Macro Security. First close down the SHF Toolkits, then you can adjust the Macro security level by opening excel then click, at the top of the worksheet, on Tools > then Click Macro> then Click Security> then Select the Medium radio button and then click save and close the file. When you open the SHF Toolkit file again you may get a message saying 'macros may contain viruses' click on the enable macros button, re-start the workbook the links between the start page and the home page should now work.

If you only own one or two toolkits they will be the only Icons enabled on the start page. So if you click on one of them they will take you to the home page and only the toolkit you clicked will be enabled. If you own all three toolkits then you can click the Master Money toolkit and enable all the toolkits on the Home Page. On the Start Page if you click on a toolkit that is grayed out the link to the home page will not work.

If you use Microsoft's IE 7.0 browser or higher and you use excel 2000 you will not be able to open up the Simple Home Finances Toolkits. You must either lower you browser to IE6.0 or upgrade excel to 2003 or 2007 so the toolkits will open and be usable.

Simplehomefinances.com owns code signing certificates, certified by Comodo a third party certification authority, but you still need to accept simplehomefinances as a trusted publisher. There are generally two ways this happens one is the first time you open the software a dialog box will open asking you if you want to Trust this publisher and giving you a link to our certificates, in this case simply click the box that says 'Always trust this publisher' or the software will open in its own dialog box (not full screen) if this happens there should be an Options link at the top of the page above the dialog box, click the Options link and then click the box to 'Trust documents from this publisher'. You may have to close the applications and re-open them after you select 'Trust documents from this publisher.

How do we navigate on the Home Page?

General Navigation

From the Start page you can select one of the four icons in order to bring you to the home page and enable one or all toolkits. If you only own one toolkit that will be the only Icon enabled on the start page. If you own all three toolkits then you can click the Master Money toolkit to bring you to the home page with all three toolkits enabled. On the home page you can disable (block the toolkit links with a transparent gray box) or enable (remove the transparent gray box and enable the toolkit links) toolkits by clicking on the name of the toolkit such as Budget Toolkit, if you enabled all the toolkits from start page and want to begin to enable one toolkit at a time just click on one of the toolkit names and all toolkits will be disabled and then click on the toolkit you want to enable and it will be enabled.

From most pages you can click the SHF logo to go back to the home page with these exceptions:

When you click to a Paycheck from an Income Plan or Income Model and then click the logo on the paycheck it will return to the related Income Plan or Income Model the paycheck is linked to. From the Income Plan or Income Model you can click the logo to go back to the Home Page.

If you click to a worksheet from the Home Page and click the logo on that worksheet you will return back to the Home Page.
